Week Journey to Flourishing

There Is Hope After the Storm.

Healing is a personal path, and often, the deepest pain is the hardest to put into words. True recovery doesn’t ask you to look away from your past or rush through the hurts; it invites you to step forward gently, surrounded by a community that truly understands.

ReStory is a thoughtful, 13-week shared path inspired by the heart of Shelter From The Storm. Together, we will walk through the layers of your story moving at your own pace from a space of quiet survival into a life where you can truly breathe, rebuild trust, and flourish again.

Mindfulness & Awareness

Trauma is held in the body. We help you focus inward and find safety in the present moment through gentle awareness practices.

Your New Story

Guided by the truth, we support you as you safely process your past moving from a story of survival to one of strength, reclaiming your power to flourish again.

Safety & Connection

We help you find peace in the present moment through gentle calming practices, while breaking the isolation in a safe, small circle of survivors who truly understand.

"I used to wake up feeling like the air was too heavy to breathe. I didn't need a 'program'—I needed to know I wasn't the only one. Restory gave me a seat at a table where I didn't have to explain my silence."

— Sarah, who found her breath again

The 13-Week Journey

Built around the weekly structure of the ReStory journey, our program guides survivors through four transformative phases.

Introduction & Creating Safety — Weeks 1–3

Building Your Foundation: No healing can happen without safety. In Phase 1, you will begin to understand what has happened to you, build your support system, and take your first steps toward healing.

Week 1: A Foundation for Recovery

You will begin to understand sexual abuse and how it affects survivors. You will set personal recovery goals and take your very first steps toward healing.

Week 2: Discovering Hope

You will recognize the patterns common among survivors and begin to accept that healing is genuinely possible. You are not alone, and you are not beyond recovery.

Week 3: Telling Yourself the Truth

Abuse plants powerful false beliefs about yourself and what happened. You will identify those lies and learn five steps for replacing them with truth.

Acknowledgement, Grief & Processing — Weeks 4–7

Honoring Your Truth: Healing requires honest acknowledgment. In Phase 2, we gently face the reality of the abuse, the grief of what was lost, and the family wounds that shaped your experience.

Week 4: Out of the Darkness into the Light

You will confront responsibility, betrayal, and denial, and permit yourself to stop carrying blame that was never yours.

Week 5: The Family in the Storm

You will examine how your family of origin shaped your experience and take steps to remove the barriers to recovery that came from it.

Week 6: Letting Go of Shame and Guilt

You will work to release the shame and guilt tied to the abuse, recognizing clearly that they were never rightfully yours.

Week 7: Feeling the Anger and Hurt

You will acknowledge the anger and hurt you have carried and begin learning healthy, non-destructive ways to express those emotions.

Reclaiming Power & Reframing — Weeks 8–10

Reclaiming Your Narrative: In Phase 3, we shift from what was done to us toward reclaiming who we are. The abuse is part of your history, not the definition of your identity.

Week 8: Healing Loneliness and Fear

You will evaluate your feelings of loneliness and fear and take steps toward meeting your genuine need for love, acceptance, and safe companionship.

Week 9: Beginning to Trust Again

You will define what healthy trust looks like, identify safe people in your life, and begin rebuilding what abuse destroyed.

Week 10: The Process of Forgiveness

You will honestly explore what forgiveness means and respond according to your own place in recovery, without pressure or rushing.

Finding Voice, Meaning & Celebration — Weeks 11–13

Step Into Your Future: The final phase is about stepping forward, finding meaning, purpose, and joy on the other side of healing.

Week 11: Confronting the Perpetrator

You will learn about perpetrators, evaluate your own situation, and determine whether confrontation is right for you based on your safety and expectations.

Week 12: Intimacy in Relationships

You will examine what intimacy truly means and take steps toward finding safe, meaningful connections with others.

Week 13: Celebrating Growth and Continuing the Journey

We celebrate the courage it took to walk this journey, honor who you have become, and look with hope toward the road ahead.
